it is more than likely coming to Cingular, but as slow as they are in releasing phones it won't be out for another year. :\

Motorola will be the first phone manufacturer to release a 3.6 Mbps HSDPA phone!! Motorola has done it again (in a good way) by unveiling this phone. If this phone comes out for Cingular (probably will), it will be a phone that we can be proud of and also a phone that VZW won't carry.

Yes it does make sense now. This phone blows all those crappy LG and Samsungs for Cingular 3G out of the water! I can't believe I'm actually going to buy a Motorola .

I wonder if it is tri-band HSDPA or just dual band 850/1900. I don't know if the device is targeted globally or just for Cingular. So as of now, the Moto MAXX is the fastest cellular phone available in the world, and Cingular gets it. SWEET

We know. His model had the 850/1900 UMTS bands.

I read an article on PCMAG about the unveiling of the RAZR MAXX, Motorola V3xx, and KRZR K1 and K1m. In the article, Motorola spokesman, Jason Gordon, stated there was an error in the spec sheet.

"The RAZR itself has been pumped up into two new models: the RAZR MAXX and the RAZR XX. Both use the high-speed HSDPA network that Cingular is building; while Cingular's frequency band isn't on their spec sheets, Motorola spokesman Jason Gordon said that omission was an error. Both have stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD memory card slots, and high-res 320-by-240 displays inside. Both also use powerful ARM11 processors, and they feel noticeably faster than previous RAZR models when stepping through menus or flipping through photos."

"The glossy, metal-and-glass RAZR MAXX is a quad-band phone with a pumped-up music player that supports AAC, WMA, MP3, and Real, a similarly compatible video player, and a 2-megapixel camera. The bright, high-res screen really jumps out at you and even though it's only 3.7 ounces, it feels heavy because of its high-end construction. This could be a big hit as a luxury phone, taking the RAZR look to a new feel."

"The RAZR XX—really, these names are getting ridiculous—is a notch more humble, with tri-band coverage and dual VGA and 1.3-megapixel cameras. From looking at the specs, the MAXX is more likely to come to the U.S. than the XX is—the previous version of the XX, the RAZR V3x, never reached our shores."

The RAZR MAXX has a great possibility of being released here in the States through Cingular. This phone might very well be the Motorola IZAR on the Cingular intranet.

And next time Motorola, don't get the spec sheets wrong!!! LOL

There are also 4 pictures of the RAZR MAXX on PCMAG. Can someone post them here because I don't know how to.

Did you change what the author of that article wrote in your quote?

He says:

Why is yours different? I suppose it is possible Moto asked them to change that line to something not so hard proof that is coming to the US. It changed from a "definate, it's a mistake" to "Don't count out the possibility" .

Unless of course you made it up.

No, I can vouch that PCMag is the one who changed it. I was just reading about a half hour ago where they said it was an error. Now I went back after reading what harlem posted and it's changed.

Also, if you notice on Moto's site there is no mention of the bands.

That's what I thought. I'm thinking they don't want the public to know about specific bands yet. That's why there is no mention on the Moto site.

No, the author must have changed the article. He changed the wording, not me. The article still states that the RAZR MAXX is quadband while the RAZR XX is triband. There isn't a spec sheet on the website but there was probably or maybe a spec sheet in the place where they announced the phone.

How would MobileBurn already know the specs?

Yep. They'll probably end up changing that later on as well.

Mobileburn, since it's a V3x update, might be assuming that the bands will remain the same.

Where does it say it's still quadband?
