Basic VZW Free WAP Solution
**Moderator edit: The original file linked in this post has been updated because teh original file contained an error.**
There have been a number of posts lately by users who have tried to create free WAP sessions unsuccessfully or who have corrupted web session files for any number of reasons.
This post is an attempt to provide a basic solution for such folks.
Here is a link to a zip file on rapidshares that contains a web session in two formats, the web session file as it appears in the file system of the phone and an RTT Browser file(.rtb) to be used with PST 7.23.
These files each include the default VZW session, a VZW_MMS session for use with another carrier's firmware on VZW's network, a Google free WAP session using Google as a proxy and a freebie session using a free proxy that is currently good and has been for some time.
The web session file can be uploaded to the phone using either BitPim, P2K Commander or QPST 2.7 build 215. This method is useful if you have a corrupted web session and need to delete the one on the phone and replace it, or it can simply be overwritten to the current file on the phone if it's not corrupted.
The RTT Browser file can be uploaded to the phone using PST 7.23 and clicking open 1XRTT Browser file v. 6.xx and selecting the VZ_FreeWAP.rtb where you have it saved and clicking the Upload to Phone button. This is my prefered method of writing web sessions to the phone because PST always does it properly and includes all the possible data fields that may need to be edited. This will not work if your web session has been corrupted, PST will not read or write to the phone until you delete the corrupt session on the phone and replace it with a valid session.
There is also CuriousGeorge's web session creation tool that can be used to create a clean valid session of your choosing to be uploaded using the method above for BitPim etc.
And of course, you can use the standard method of creating web sessions on the phone by accessing the programming menu (menu+073887* then 6 digit security code) and inputing the required data directly.
Hopefully this will provide a relatively universal solution for anyone who is having problems with Free WAP using a variety of different methods and available tools so that they can use the one that works best for them.

Is there a special way that the websession file needs to be configured to work on a network with two different routers? I have HoTTProxy configured on my computer to host my own proxy server, which worked great while I was at college all year and using a cable modem and linksys router, since I could easily set up port forwarding on that.. but now that I'm home for the summer, I have to deal with a DSL modem/router combo, along with a secondary wireless router. I already know which ports are open on the DSL router, and I have my wireless router configured to forward to my computer still, however the DSL router doesn't have a specific port forwarding setting. I've seen on the websession files that there are two different gateway settings, so I was curious if there was a way to configure that to account for my network setup.. I'm completely stumped on this, so if anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate hearing them.
This is a link to site that has port forwarding configuration instructions for a huge number of different routers and DSL modem/routers. I was able to find good instructions there for my Westel Wirespeed 2200 DSL modem. Verizon Online is my provider and they, of course, would not provide any support for doing this on their equipment so I had to figure it out for myself when I was setting up HoTTProxy about a year or so ago.
Setting up HoTTProxy can be very nettlesome to troubleshoot but since you've had it working before then you have an excellent chance of nailing this down.
On my setup, I don't have a router, just the DSL modem, which is NOT a router but actually behaves exactly like one and can be accessed via your web browser and configured to run port forwarding as a custom user defined service.
So, hopefully you can find the right way to access your DSL modem to configure it properly and then it should work.
Mod Note: I merged my thread with this thread since they are related.
I was messing around with some settings on my e815 and accidentally removed the VZW web session from the phone. When I go to make a new session, the phone will not save it. Are there any files I can upload using QPST or tricks to replace the VZW session?
This should help. I am off to work brutally early today but I'll be back later this evening.
I have successfully helped several others with this issue.

Umm...The title of the thread you gave me is "Get the 6590i or wait for the 7210??? ". That didn't help me .
It restored the VZW profile, except each time I launch the browser it tells me to call *611 for internet service. I did replace "min" with my ten digit number.
I used the PST method after I reloaded the WebSession file onto the phone using QPST. I'm using the default VZW profile right now. I just reloaded it onto the phone without any modifications and it still fails for me.
I know this sounds like a stupid question so i apologize in advance. If I load this file into my phone do i still need to use HoTTProxy on my computer? Or will this allow me to just use the mobile browser? I haven't started to do anything with HoTTProxy yet, so I just want to gather everything together before i start messing around. Thanks.
