Well tried the software today and am have one problem. The sound comes thru the speaker BUT the microphone doesnt pick up my voice. Also, tried a bluetooth headset but cant get sound thru it. Anyone else try the software? Receiving call volume is Great and the program responsiveness is excellent.

Well I got it working and call quality is Excellent. But....the only way it worked well was with the bluetooth headset because without it the sound comes out of the speakerphone and not the internal phone speaker which creates an echo when the other person talks. But it wasnt straightforward with the bluetooth either. I had to use Bluetunes to get it to work which can be found here

I am not near an Edge location but would like to know if that would work well or if you need WIFI??

So far so good on my PPC, seems to be less buggy/lag then Skype was. If anyone wants to chat on it my woize is mrpink57.

Glad to hear it works well on the PPC. I have been using it when I'm overseas without a problem. It doesnt have the big name like Skype but works the same. Still can't get a phone number in the US though.

Oh, and since you need .NET framework to use the software then make sure you use the .NET2.0 BETA. BETA now allows you to save the .NET software on your miniSD card and it actually goes there.

^^ can you link me to it? I would love that since .NET takes up SOOOOO much space on the PPC.

And yeah having a hard time trying to pay for the service, got a ton of errors and still cant buy a simple $4 amount, I sent them a few emails with no response here. I advised them to maybe take up paypal. Also this has a MUCH smaller footprint then Skype does.

Here is the CF .net link

I am told that Woize does not have voice encryption when you talk over the internet and Skype does. Hence the difference in processor power required to encypt and unencrypt the voice in Skype.

Ok, got the program to work, have'nt been able to test it yet beause, whenever I try to log into woize, it says I am not connected to internet. I have an unlimited data plan and can browse other things. Whenever I connect the phone with the data cable, it works fine.

Is there a chance that my phone company has blocked internet access for VOIP ports on my phone?

I have not tried the Woize, but all the similar ones (SIP based) had problem to connect through a wireless gateway. Skype never has this issue.

Am I doing something stupid??

Maybe I'm doing something stupid but I can't seem to be able to register for Woize. When I go to the "Create Account" page and then click on the down arrow to choose a country, a selection of countries doesn't appear. Without choosing a country I'm not able to create an account. Has anyone else seen this problem? I've written twice to Woize support and haven't received a response. Are they still in business?

Any of you overclock or cache-boost your phone?

Skype worked OK after I did both on my SDA but I have little use for it at the moment so I dumped it.

FYI - I use BTAudio; another good BT app.
