I went to pay my bill online the other day and this screen pops up with an offer of unlimited minutes for $49.95. Extra lines, $10 less. Something special for longtime good customers, however they define that. Hmmmm........
I mulled this over for a couple of days and decided to do it, even though I've only every once hit my 1500/mo ceiling ($39.95.) That was when I was doing business on the cell and had a lot of family long distance. I'll probably be throwing away $10/mo for awhile, but it sure opens up options for the future.
After I got a UMA phone due to crappy GSM coverage where I"m living, I had figured on adding Unlimited UMA Calling if I saw my life changing where my phone usage goes way up. So there I"m at $50 again, and I have to use UMA phones. Now I can use any phone.
I"m living at my parents while my father dies, so once I"m out I won't need a land line with this unlimited minutes. And I have the router that takes SIM cards, so there's another option that would cost another $10/mo.
My brother pays $65/mo, I think, to Metro PCS with unlimited minutes. Very good local coverage (Sarasota, FL) but crappy roaming which he doesn't need anyway. So is $50/mo with great coverage a great deal, or what?
