Iphone now availble for HUP after 3 months not 12

As a huge influx of requests for early HUP for iphone, rogers has made an exception to HUP eligibility for Iphone only. As long as the account has been active for three months or HUP over three months ago you CAN HUP to iphone. Tier 1 pricing applies so the hardware price which everyone knows already plus $35 admin.

Just thought you'd all like to know!

This was only effective as of today btw

So if I were to port my # over to Rogers from Fido today, I can do an iPhone upgrade Nov.7/08?

No need to bother retention, this is now a standard option available for all csr's and store reps to access. No warning was given in advance so some reps may not even be aware yet but just get them to try and it will work

Just call the number and ask to be upgraded, or what?

Your Hardware Upgrade can not be completed at this time.
Your wireless number has not been active for the amount of time required to be eligible to complete a hardware upgrade. You will be eligible for a hardware upgrade after: 12/14/2008

and i phoned up .. there was no work around ...

Tomorrow someone will announce immediate daily upgrades for iPhones at Rogers and fido.

But as with the other $199/$299 thread, no one at Rogers/fido will know about it.

I remember when we waited for Rogers/fido to make an announcement. That made it kind of, you know, official.

This thread is vapor until officially confirmed.

It aint surprising that Rogers/Fido reps dont know it yet lol. I wonder why they are not always updated the same day it is launched, so weird

I even mentioned that it was announced today and maybe she should check with someone else... but she basically thought I was trying to pull a fast one on her.

Confirmed by going into "Manage my services" and clicking "Upgrade to iPhone 3G"

It says that I'm eligable for any of the three models.

My account is not 12 months old yet. I'm on hold right now.
