I've noticed that it does break some shortcuts to anything installed on the SD card previously though. You'll have to go in and change their paths to "\My documents\Program Files\XXXXX"
My device is bare because I'm testing WM6, so there isn't much to change. It is worth noting in case someone has a lot of links to the SD card. I still think its worth it, just with the time it saves.
Will it work with all/most WM5/6 devices?
I'm going to see if this will on my SDA; I've been looking for something like this and am surprised that I've not come across it here within HoFo on the Smartphone and/or WM side.

I hate having to rename & move every picture & video from the main "My Pictures" & My Videos" to my storage card "My Pictures" & My Videos", If it where just a simple reg hack I'd fdo it keep testing & let me know, or have I missed a better way somewhere alon the way, I've been invovled in about a billion things lately. Thanks.

This hack just combines the storage card and my documents folder into a single "My Documents" folder.
That way everything on your microSD card is technically in your My Documents folder.
And yea this hack should be WM5/WM6 compatible on any device. I know it works on the blackjack in WM5 and WM6.
I posted this a while back, but I was still seeing people asking about it in other threads. I've been using it for a while now and it's awesome. There are zero negative effects. You just loose the storage card folder for a unified folder.

One last question though - what happens if the card is not plugged in?

That is correct. A "My Documents" folder always has to be present. If there isn't one... it'll auto create one. If you take out your microSD card, and restart your phone... you'll have a blank My Documents folder. If you THEN insert your card... it'll create a "My Documents 2" folder.
The solution is to just delete the empty "My Documents" folder before inserting the microSD card.
OR
Making sure the microSD card is present when you turn the device on.
AGAIN, it'll only create the folder on boot-up if there isn't a folder there (ie no memory card). If the phone is running and you pull the SD card out, nothing will happen.
I just leave mine in, and I never had any problems.

Yea, I'll probably give it a try one day. I wish Google maps kept it's cache under My Documents. Is there a reg edit for that? I would do it now if that was the case.
After changing the registry value and rebooting, I do not see the SD card anymore, but instead get a mounted volume folder for the SD card instead of the SD card being the new My Documents folder? A new My Documents folder is created on reboot, for some reason this hack is not working?! I just got my blackjack as a refurb from AT&T. Anybody have any ideas? TIA.
