I was disappointed to see that the new Nokia 6086 under iSync. Knowing that it's probably the same BT protocol as every other Nokia out there I decided to go digging.
Well...it works with a simple text edit.
sudo vi /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/PlugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist
Add this block somewhere.. I added it right after the 6021 entry.
I searched for these details before getting this phone, but couldn't find them, so I want to include them here for others' reference.
In terms of iSync, once adding in the above information, I was able to sync both iCal calendars and Address Book information including email and addresses.
It looks like the phone puts all-day events in as being from 8am-8am, which is a little odd but works.
I know its been a while since your post, but I still want to say thanks. You rock! It took a grand total of a minute or two to get my wife's new phone connected and sync'd. Thanks again!
Great Tip, and here's how to make the icon correct
This tip worked great for me about 6 months ago, but I have since upgraded to Leopard. A google search brought me here again, so I can say this tip works for both 10.4 and 10.5.
To fix the icon that shows up in iSync to match the 6086:
Copy this image into /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/PlugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/
(this is the folder in which MetaClasses.plist resides)
Modify the your entry in the MetaClasses.plist file.
