need help with samsung a720

hi there,

just looking for some assistance out there from the pros, a friend of mine asked me to help program her samsung a720(sprint), and i noticed it was in test mode(has the following on screen):

-Test Mode-
S : 2
P : 0779

how do i get out of this "test mode"? it would be huge if someone could share their wisdom. i did a search on the forums, and didn't find anything for samsung codes for the a720, so i'm finally asking all of y'all. also, added bonus(and would make my friend's day) would be if anyone knew how to change the network system id on this bad boy.

thanks mucho in advance(didn't see much help in the samsung forum, so posting here)

AFAIK, it's supposed to be only for Telus at the moment. Sprint looked at the success of the Telus version and decided to pull it off the shelf and do more development for release. Could you take pictures of the phone to see what it looks like, because it sounds like she was sold a test unit which isn't meant for sale.

Are you saying Sprint originally cancelled it only to reconsider after the Telus one sold well?

From what I've seen of the numbers from Telus, yes.

p_dizzo could you post more pictures and ask your friend exactly where she got the phone from?

What are we talking about? As big a hit as the Chocolate? It is being sold right along side it.

The whole front is metal alloy. Sure looks like it would sell for looking like an iPod mini, especially in that color

This was supposed to replace the a920. It's so nice, this was going to be my next phone too..... Why Sprint ?

Surprisingly more than the Chocolate due to the Sweet Pink boxset they are selling to lure new adds.

wow, didn't think this thread would get this much attention.. even though we're all off topic, my friend said she just bought it off a "friend".. but my guess would be that it came from samsung somewhere,

for all of your viewing pleasure, here's some big pics! as for my opinion, i definitely approve of this model, over the m500 Bell Mobility came out with... so... anyone with any thoughts on how to get out of test mode?

well well well, i feel a bit stupid. just did a factory reset through security, and looks like we're good to go.. so, thanks for the inspiration i guess we can close this thread now.

hmm, maybe i should ask my friend if she wants to sell it to a sprint subscriber that could really take advantage of it? any interested? (i added the last picture after finally solving this puzzle)
