HOW TO FLASH GUIDE...
*1ST flash with 6FR and then with its flexflash
Install RSD Lite:
Install P2Kman
Download the Monsterpacks (MPs) you need, or you think you might need. If you are flashing to 6DR, then you must download the 6DR reflash so that your phone does not go through the reverse flip issue. Remember to flash the reflash after you have flashed with the original.
YOU MUST FLASH TO THE MONSTERPACK FIRST FOR ALL FLASHING. YOU CANNOT FLASH THE FIRST TIME WITH A REFLASH. For example : After flashing to the 6DR MP you have to download the 6DR RELFASH and flash that on top of the 6DR MP.
5. Make 100% SURE THAT YOUR TRANSFLASH / MICROSD CARD IS OUT. TAKE IT OUT NOW. Then goto MENU---> SETTINGS---> CONNECTION---> USB SETTINGS---. DEFAULT CONNECTION and set to : DATA/FAX CONNECTION. If you accidentally leave it on memory card say goodbye to your transflash card and your phone.
6. Connect the USB cord to your phone while turned on and closed. First plug the USB cord into your phone, then the other side into the computer. BE SURE THE CONNECTION IS SECURE AND WILL NOT BE DISTURBED. There have been stories of cats screwing up phones by knocking the cable loose, seriously.
7.Windows should make a "ding dong" sound to let you know it has recognized your phone as a USB device. When Windows recognizes your phone, it may ask to be pointed to drivers...then point it to the folder mentioned in #2.
8. Open RSD Lite. Click "Show Device" and it should recognize your phone. It will usually recognize your phone before pressing show device, but just do it anyway
9. Click the "..." next to the filename box to browse for the 6DR MP (or whatever Monsterpack you are flashing to). Then click "Start".
10. After clicking start it takes a few minutes. DO NOT touch your phone or the cable. It will look like the phone has turned itself off. This is what happens when your phone goes into bootloader (* + # + Power key) mode. When the flash is complete, your phone should turn itself back on to its normal set up.
10a. Reverse flip may occur if you are flashing to 6DR. I have only heard of this happening with 6DR. When this happens, it seems like your phone is on (external display light comes on, or keypad flashes, or both), but it looks like it is off. To determine if you have reverse flip, open your phone. If you get your regular screen and are flashing to 6DR, great. If you’re flashing to 6FR, you’re already done – congratulations!
If the screen is blank, keep the phone open and try using a paperclip to press the little button between the phone’s hinges, slightly above the right softkey. Your phone should think it is open again, and when you release the paperclip, it will act like it is closed
11. If, when your 6DR flashing is complete, you experience reverse flip (phone thinks it's opened when closed & vice versa), don't panic. Close your phone, press the “Show Device” button on RSD Lite, and use the steps 8-10 substituting the 6DR REFLASH for the MP. I always hit "Show Device" again before each flash, which may not be necessary but is a nice precaution. This should fix the problem. If you experience reverse flip with 6FR MP DO NOT use the 6DR REFLASH. Search around for the 6FR REFLASH file and use that. Once successful, you’re done!
12. Repeat steps 8-10 replacing the filename with the 88R MP or whatever MP you desire.
13. After each Flash is completed, you will probably have some reception difficulties. (Don't worry it is only temporary, your phone has a brand new database). Power Cycle the phone (turn it off, then on again) two times and turn it off. Then hook it up to the charger and let it completely charge again. It is always fine after that.
