Well I personally don't like how flush the rocker is on the BlackJack. If they would have just put the same hardware from the i320 that would have been much better just by looking at it. Anyway... I "fixed it" myself. Gorilla tape half ***** it. Yeah I know there's better options and I'm going to look into them. Maybe some kind of epoxy that harden but I don't want to permanently damage it.
It's actually improved naviagtion for me. I feel more secure navigating and make less accidental button pushes of send and end. I'm personally fine with how flush all the other keys are if only the rocker stood out.
Maybe your thoughts/design will inspire a 3rd party vendor to design something more elegant (not that your's isn't!). I agree with you totally about the key area and rocker. Its the only real issue I have with the BJ. Unlike the Dash 's layout, the BJ flush design just induces you to inevitalby hit the end key and others. I can't believe that early testers for the model didn't tell Samsung this as it would not have taken much to fix it, as you showed. I thought I'd get a little better at not hitting it, but so far that hasn't happened.
Nice idea. This trick may work well with the "Invisible Shield" clear skin, most commonly used for the ipod. It's clear, but has some thickness, and definitely makes the slick plastic and metal of the ipod more "grippy." May be just the thing for the D-pad...
I have to tell ya this little piece of tape makes a world of difference. An adhesive rubber o-ring might be good too. But so far the tape is doing the job...
Great thought! Maybe custom cut an e-grip would help
Juiceppc's solution and your suggestion got me to rummage thru my extra smartphone gear and I found a circular piece that was left over from one of the egrips packages I've purchase in the past. It was pretty much a perfect fit in diameter it really does make you less prone to pushing the send and end buttons when navigating. I used my son's hole punch to for the middle and it would have looked a little better but I was off center just a bit. There are is a universal kit at egrips that has nothing in it but circles.

I will tomorrow. I did that at my office at work today and don't have them with me now. I was playing around with the size to get in under the forum limit and think I grabbed the wrong one. I also should have checked. I'd add that I've used the BJ a bit this evening and it does seem to help although I still sometimes hit the end/send buttons by mistake.
Lol... i hope i dont have to much of a problem when i get the phone. I have pretty tiny hands i guess, so it shouldnt be too bad. Otherwise, the egrips thing doesnt look to bad, but i prefer everything to look clean, so i hope its not as bad as some of you guys suggest
You might like it just as it is. I'm sure some are saying what are these guys complaining about. Its all a matter of personal preference and in some cases hands/finger size. I'm just use to using the nav ring from using the jamin for a number of months and that type of design and that on the Dash imo, is easier to use. The BJ design would not be so bad if the end key wasn't so close. Hope it works out for you.
