Can you confirm that it's a ultra-thin dual flip?

Samsung SCH U710... Wow

The SCH-U710 appears to be Samsung’s answer to the LG 9800 & 9900. It is a flip phone that opens like a normal one but it also opens along the side as well.

I happen to find some pics of the upcoming Samsung SCH-U710.

Before the pics however, here is some of the info I've heard about this upcoming device...

The phone will have all the now standard bells & whistles (mircoSD, Bluetooth, EVDO, Speakerphone, Get It Now w/ Navigation, etc.).

It also has a full QWERTY keyboard when opened from the side (like the LG 9800 & 9900).

Now the BIG NEWS...

1. The phone has THEMES like the recent LG devices! No more Red Bars. This is the first time a recent non-LG phone has had this feature.

2. Bluetooth now sends ALL AUDIO to the connected device! This includes all BREW applications like VCast Videos and Music. And it sends the audio to ANY bluetooth device, not just stereo ones! Now you can watch and listen to VCast videos, play games, and everything else with a regular bluetooth headset. No need for a wired unit.

This might be the way things are going to be done going forward.

And now for the pics...

Cool Side-Ways Mode:

Nice Backlighting

THEMES!

They are almost identical in size. There is less than a millimeter difference in thickness, height, or width.

A lot of Samsung's new and upcoming slim phones have a similar front. C417 for example.

1) Is the camera a 3.2MP like on the A990, or just a basic 1.3MP?

2) Is the Intenral Display 320x240 QVGA?

Also found this... http://brewforums.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?t=13719

The close up pics look a pretty pixelated, so I doubt it's a QVGA screen . I hope I'm wrong though.

the samsung rep was in our store today and pulled this bad boy out. i have to admit, i'm not a samsung fan, but it is definately a sharp looking phone. i love the ui, and i hope verizon decides to keep it that way when it finally comes out (i know verizon is trying to keep all of their ui's the same to avoid customers having to learn a new ui every time they switch phones).

the rep did seem to answer a few of your questions:
1.3mp camera
release date: sometime before christmas?

i know they're putting this out to compete directly with the 9800/9900, so i would look for it to come out about the same time. as far as price goes, the 9800 was 349 when it came out, so i'm looking for the 9900 to be the same. in turn, the u710 should be comprable.

hope this info helps

Did you get to handle the phone yourself? How sturdy does the hinge feel? or the overall hand feel of the phone?

Thanks
