ok, so I have just successfully flashed my phone using phoneXS, and as promised, said I'd write and "in-depth" guide on how to flash your phone for those of us that are less computer-literate. In any case, I have to give all of my thanks to ikjadoon, fungied.cheese, and Lemming from the se-nse forums, Zuzu3 for his cam driver along with assorted others that helped in the process. In any case.. let's get this tut started!

1.) CHARGE YOUR PHONE!!! Even with a full battery, there are "chances" that your battery may die before it finishes flashing due to longer bruteforcing times (bruteforcing = trying to crack passwords by trying extreme amounts of combinations, or sometimes a set dictionary, in just a few seconds. This can be quick if the password is one of the first words selected, or longer if it's a tougher password to crack).

Also take out your SIMS card AND any your memory card as well!

2.) This MAY NOT be a needed step, but in my case it surely was. Before starting anything, go to "add or remove programs" in your control panel and delete "SE PC Suite" (it MAY only need to be exited, as I've always kept mine active. Any feedback on this would be nice). You can really uninstall this any manner if you want, just get rid of it (and disc2phone just to be on the safer side, they only take what.. 5 minutes to put back on?). The reason to do this is because after trying to flash two times, it got interrupted once far along because once you go so far in flashing, your computer will soon recognize your phone and will hook up to it using PC suite, and both times it canceled the flashing operation.

3.) It's time to get the two most important files, your MAIN and your FS. If you have an American-based w810i, fungied.cheese has already made this a WOORLD easier by making his own pack of files with "almost" everything you need. You can download it HERE . No subscriptions needed, just follow the fine print and download it. Even if you DON'T have an American-based w810, then download it anyways. Take this compressed file that he supplied us with, and extract everything into w/e fold you want "IE.. my documents/**your folder name here**" I used "my documents/phone flashing". ***fungied.cheese's pack includes the best acoustic drivers to date, which cancel the hiss and make the volume much louder than the weak power it gave before. He has also included Zuzu3's supercam driver which...does just that, makes the camera have better quality. It's proven better, though the difference is minor. It also allows you to take silent pictures when in silentmode, so you don't have to worry about the shuttersound. If you don't want the cam drivers, then simply go into the "files_to_upload" folder in the directory you extracted fungied.cheese's pack, then the ifs folder, then delete the "camera" folder. ***

If you ARE NOT using a w810 (ONLY DO THIS IF YOU'RE NOT USING THE FILES SUPPLIED IN FUNGIED.CHEESE'S PACK!!!) or are using a more complicated region, such as HK, then go HERE , and select your phone you're flashing. Then it should have a couple of extra options here, just stick w/ whatever category has the most "Entradas" and you should be safe. Then you should see a FS and a MAIN category. Select MAIN first and choose which one fits your description, such as your location. Then save this file to somewhere you might remember, such as the folder you saved fungied.cheese's pack into, but if you're using differing FS and MAIN files than what he's using, make sure to delete those files, THEN add the files you're downloading from the link provided first, so you don't use the wrong FS and MAIN files.

Then after downloading the MAIN file from the link, go back to the FS category and download one that matches the MAIN file you used. Remember what number you're using as well, as you'll need it later (such as Europe having 5 numbers). Save this in the same directory you saved the MAIN file, along w/ all your other helpful phone flashing files/folders.

4.) Download THIS . What this is is the USB driver set. This is the only thing that fungied.cheese hasn't supplied us with, and in many cases, you won't even need this. But to be on the safe side.. take it. Extract these straight into "My documents". This will make it MUCH easier. More details on installing the drivers below.

5.) Now look for the file in there that's called Phone-XS V2. Open that program up and you should get a simple screen with a few options. First you want to make sure that "USB" is selected. Then click "Start" and the log that shows up should tell you take battery out.. hold C.. blah blah. Just make sure your phone is turned off, you took your SIMS card out, and you took your memory card out as well. Then before connecting your phone to your computer via the USB cable, hold the "C" button ON YOUR PHONE! (not keyboard) and connect it to the USB, still holding the C button. Now to install the USB drivers, right-click "My Computer" and click the "hardware" tab, followed by the "device manager" button. Down the list a bit, there should be an option that says "Other Devices" and it will say something like "unknown device" or "USB device". Whatever it is, if you don't have the USB driver.. it's unrecognized. I'm not POSITIVE what it says because I've gone through with it already, but in any case, rightclick it and click "Install (or update) Drivers". A window will come up asking if you want to install the driver automatically or manual (find the folder yourself). Check the second option (manually) and whenever it click the "Find directory manually" option, and where it has the "Browse" box.. simply tell it to browse under your "My Documents" folder. It should start and finish installing the drivers, and you're done w/ the hardest part of the tutorial.

6.) Now you will most likely have to exit out of Phone-XS, and re-run it again. This time through, do the whole same process above, except instead, as soon as you connect it (Make sure it's still off and you're holding down the "C" button while hooking it up), it should show up abuncha different actions on the log. Once finished, you'll know it's done. It only takes about 5 seconds or so..

7.) The next screen look alot tougher, but it REALLY ISN'T. At the top in the "Select Firmware" Box, check both the "Flash Main Firmware" and "Flash File Firmware" boxes, and for the top box, browse for the folder that you put all of your phone flashing files (such as Phone-XS) and select the MAIN file.. which should have the word "main" in it. In fungied.cheese's case, it's "W810_R4DB005_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_CID49.mbn". Now for the box under that, do the same thing, except instead of selecting the MAIN file, select the FS file, which in again, if you are using fungied-cheese's pack, then it'll be called "W810_R4DB005_FS_AMERICA_2_RED49.fbn". Then move down to the section below that in the "Select Customization" box. There will be two sub-boxes to focus on.. the "Select Phone Model" and "Select CDA and Region" box. For the first one, just pick whatever phone you're flashing.. as simple as that! For the second one, this one's a bit tougher. Just select whatever region you're flashing from (if you're using fungied.cheese's pack, then select the FIRST America, one, labeled "AMERICA_2 (CDA102494/76)"). If you're NOT using fungied.cheese's supplied MAIN/FS files, then do you remember that number that I told you to remember earlier when downloading the FS file? This is where you can look for it. No worries if it doesn't show up, because most (and maybe all) work together, as long as you have the locations correct. I just say make sure for the sake of saving you some time if it DOESN'T work. Better safe than sorry...

8.) Now just click the FLASH button and FINALLY (HOPEFULLY) you should be done w/ EVERYTHING! Now you just gotta give it alotta time and hope for no interuptions, because this can take a LOONG time. If you have any problems, revert to THIS . This has any FAQs regarding the flashing process, such as what the different actions in the log mean.

One MAJOR thing to note which messed me up one time. At any certain time, you WILL ... and I Mean WILL get stuck at a command saying "Wait for EaTEbS"... and the link I posted just above says that that's a battery fault, or a fault with selecting wrong options. DO NOT cancel the flashing because it's been on that ONE option for 5-10 hours. It's NEEDED. That means that you're almost done flashing, actually. Take a look at the "Phone-XS LOG" notepad file that is in fungied.cheese's pack. It shows a list of the commands and the times of all that's gone down. Look at the very end how it jumps form 2 o clock to 11 o clock with just that ONE action. You shouldn't have to worry about this unless you are running low on battery, which.. a full charge should have solved. Unless flashing goes on to the next 2 days, don't stop because of this!

ALSO note that davinciteam and wotanserver are a bit "safer" flashes if you will.. however they cost money and do the same thing, minus other fixes such as camera quality and increasing the volume. PhoneXS is also free, and if you mess up or get interrupted midway.. then you can just simply flash again using phoneXS, I can't say it's COMPLETELY safe, but as far as I've done my searching, no one's had a phone die from it, and I doubt it's possible.. COULD be wrong though, I'm not held liable for any damages

Read through it, nice job on the descriptions. Just as a note, if you're using my files it contains the camera driver files from Zuzu3. If you don't want it just delete it.

On another note, I'm just wondering how you got a hold of my log files lol? Cause I dont remember uploading them haha. But its all good.

I can't even find that section of the log, but to my knowledge it doesnt seem right. I had the Eatbs error once and it wasn't brute forcing at all. The program was just stuck because every few minutes of brute forcing the program would try another code and if it was successful then you wouldn't have to wait for the EatBS part. I solved that problem my pullin out my phone and recharging.

that's what the log had said form what i've read, though when I just flashed it, though it's not ALWAYS the final thing. It was 2 times for me though. This last time it flashed in about 3 hours and I had no problem with anything taking longer than 10 minutes.

It can very well be that it means you have no battery or one of the options you've selected doesn't correspond, but then again, I've had it stay on that one action for a couple of hours and get over it eventually. Just takes patience. I'd say if it takes more than 15 hours on this one command though, then I'd retry it. I don't have my personal command prompts, but it took 3 hours for me one of the times.

i was wondering if this program is the equivalent to davinci and wotan

i was going to turn my z710i to a w710i using wotan (didnt know the other one you mentioned), but for the time being, i cant, cause i dont have an international credit card, and because of that, i cant buy a paypal account...so i cant pay for wotan :P

you say i can do it with this software ?

im from south america, Argentina, and my phone is Branded (CTI), i wanted to get rid of that too XD (not unlock it, just unbrand it), but i think that flashing it to a W710 would do that too, i think :P

what i dont really know now if i can do it with phoneXS just using the right MAIN and FS, and if i can, i dont know if there is a correct one for me in your links (i see some mentioning AMERICA, or nam [north america?], or generic, or orange, no clue if one of those is usefull, or if i can do what i want either :P )

ehh, different programming, same results. However, PhoneXS is a bit less... user friendly. However you can do much more because it's meant for YOU to do the modding

EDIT: Just because you live in the US doesn't mean you NEED the US one. But if you're from HK and have nothing to do w/ America.. it's a bit better that you get HK. Only a few minor differences in the few such as languages, or if you ever other fw, it should match whatever driver is set with your phone, ie HK.

And as far as I'm concerned, PhoneXS would work just fine for you as long as you get the correct MAIN and FS files. I've never flashed one phone brand to drivers dealing w/ a completely different phone though..

yes you can. just download the w710i firmware files (MAIN and FS) and get the w710i cust pack files and you're good to go.

there is a thread here where a member of the forums used wotan to "turn" his z710 to a w710 (fitness aps wont work cause no hard suort for them tho :P), with that i would get flashlite suport and a better music player.

if i manage to get the correct main and fs for my phone (im form south america, we speak spanish here, i dont know if that matters :P), i would be able to do this, right ? since wotan cant customice (i think) that matte was not discused in the other thread (where no one answers right now :P), can i finilize my phone without customising it ?
