Any way to get dashes on number entry?

What I mean by this is, when entering a phone number, is there any way to get dashes instead of one long number?

For example. This is how my phone is now when entering a phone number or looking at a number on the caller ID.

5555555555

This is how I want it to be

555-555-5555

I have a Nokia 6303. Is there any way to mod the phone, or get some hidden menu item to activate this? I have tried searching everywhere but Nokia modding is a lot less talked about than Motorola modding (which are the phones I used to use).

Thanks!

Because it's a heck of a lot easier reading numbers with dashes. Especially when it comes to reading caller ID numbers on the fly.

I mean think about it.

This

18597385284

or

1-859-738-5284

Common sense prevails on this one. Not sure why anybody wouldn't want to have dashes.

I think that's the American way, and unless the phone is specifically American, I don't think it will support this.

No, the phone is European. Pretty weak, wonder why the US is the only place to realize that phone numbers with dashes is the best and easiest way to read a phone number.

Suppose that's why we are the #1 nation on earth, because we can figure out things like this which other nations have yet to grasp. Pretty sad since it's such a simple concept.

Haha, yeah, right, the dashes in your phone numbers makes the US the number 1 nation on earth . Just buy an American phone if you want that functionality!

No, not because of the dashes. Although it doesn't hurt, I mean what backwards country wouldn't have dashes in their phone numbers? I suppose it's the same country that has the cheeseburger with no cheese.

Of all the things this phone does in terms of functionality, it really surprises me they wouldn't have dashes as a option. And what gives with the Nokia hacking? Is this non-existent or something? Why does it seem that Motorola's are the only phones that are modifiable?

There are more countries out there that don't have dashes in their phone numbers than do, and I love your assessment that they're somehow all backwards because of that.

The phone doesn't have dashes as an option because it is European, where dashes aren't used. Like I said, buy a phone intended for the American market if you want the American number system.

Brilliant! Put dashes in a ten digit number because most of the population are too dumb to remember more than three or four numbers.

That really makes us the #1 nation, alright.
