If anyone in TO wants some hands on play time with the Storm, Telus has a display of most of its smartphones at the Eaton Centre, just outside Sears on the 2nd level. You can also enter to win a free Storm!
It was this very type of hands on display that made the decision for me against the HTC Diamond. I'd wanted it, but when I played with it, I hated it so got a Curve. I just finished trying out the Storm... and I LOVE IT! The click screen is so much better than I thought it would be.

I'm out in Vancouver but I had business in Bellingham Washington. I happened to drop by a Verizon dealer and because there weren't many customers, the pretty sales lady let me play with the Storm for about 30 mins. I gotta tell you, and this is coming from someone who has never used a Blackberry for any extended period of time, that device is sweet. I have no idea what people are talking about the gap between the screen and the casing; the click screen is a cool feature; the resolution on the screen is absolutely amazing. Yes, there is a bit of a lag issue going from portrait to landscape, but my understanding is the new OS update will solve that issue. And if it does, you have a winner on your hands. I was all set to write off the Storm but with the OS upgrades, it will definitely be as good as the IPhone (in its own unique way). There is a learning curve, but the fun will be getting to know the device.
not to defend telus. but u guys cant say that. they have had a lot of returns due to curve gps issues. touch diamond issues apparently. and im sure telus doesnt want to keep tkaing loses for swapping all these handsets they are forcing manufacturers to get it right
You are absolutely correct on that notion. I have heard that from at least three different people in the marketing dept of Telus.
this is my first post in this thread, but i've been reading this thread since early-mid Nov., from the first page up to now...
and i gotta say, i wanted this phone since the first time i heard about it (especially since i am so anti-iPhone! and pretty much anti-all-other-phone-companies) and i'm not a phone-nerd, tech-nerd (not saying any of you are...even though it is quite obvious many of you are! ) but reading through this all was very helpful, educational, interesting...and stright up funny! (and i read this while i'm at my school field placement, so it's been kinda keeping me sane while working with off the wall adolescent boys). kinda off topic, but best moments: 1. the guy that was being picked on...and the moderator having to step in (no offense to guy, you man'ed up and said your piece), 2. RileyFreeman having what appeared to me as little hissy fits about no one listening/believing him about the release date/pricing (again, no offense...but fyi: i hope you're wrong too...$199!), 3. finding out Howard Chui actually looks like a cool guy and doesn't appear to be a total nerd! (again, no offense, it's a compliment! i'm Asian too and related to a bunch of total nerds!) haha.
but back on topic, i've read/seen everything about this phone (via the links here and whatever else) and this thread had me going back and forth, but after those two videos of the Telus Storms...it's official: i'm getting this phone as soon as it drops! see you guys in the line up.

u have started off on a bad note. normally i like when females are nerdy and are into tech. but u have come in here and knocked me for laughing at the people that repeated a question i answered 50 times. i do not like and i do not want u to post in this thread. now GTFO
gotcha lol. haha i bet everyone reading that was like oh my god hes gonna get banned lol. another female to the group, unfortunately shes going blackberry so it will never work :P then again i am black and shes going for the berryyy hmmmm and my ex was asian lol
Sweetwater55 is correct about non-blackberry users. I have heard that before. That the Storm will appeal to non-blackberry users more.
Well seasoned Blackberry users might be disappointed because the click screen will make them slower typers. They will not have all the shortcuts available to them because of the lack of a physical keyboard. But for someone like me, this will be my first berry, i'm not getting hundereds of emails to reply to... so i think it'll be sweet and less to complain about!
dudes... isn't what futureshop is doing the same as what Best Buy did in the states with the storm. If memory serves me right... and it usually does...
Bestbuy Mobile released a pre-order and ship date.... then like a week later, Verizon comes out with the official launch date which was like a week or something before bestbuy dropped it.
Drop it... drop it like its hot... drop dat shat!
another female to the group, unfortunately shes going blackberry so it will never work
well if it helps any, i currently have an HTC and i actually love my WM phones! so who knows, if this phone really is a flop, i'll be back to my WM phones in no time.

u didnt even comment on my trick. did u kind get scared at first? lol
I swear I saw a lady on the bus a few minutes ago with a Storm. She pulled it out only once and I only saw it as she was putting it into her bag, but what else is black with a huge touch screen and huge Telus branding right under the screen? (No it's not an Instinct) This is in Calgary btw.

theres a thread in the Bell forum where rim is giving their employee's storms and they are getting them activated.
