You'd be amazed how many people take 2 Year contracts for the Nokia 1661 (retail $55)

I think what happens is that a lot of people will sign a 2 year contract to get a "free phone", i.e. a $0. phone. And it doesn't matter if it is a low end model, as long as it is "free". I have friends who would "show off" as if they won a small prize (hey, it's free!).

The key is FREE. People have no concept for looking at a length of time.

Someone said "Free" and "All You Can Eat" are the best advertising slogan ever existed. [On a PBS documentary, talking about the shady credit card rates.]

    ^^ exactly.

Most people think when they buy something or paying for a service, everything should be free. Hey, if they sign a contract - they got a phone for free! Not a lot of people really think a purchase through and do their research.

As long as it doesnt cost them a dime, to them - they dont care if they sign a contract.

And then they get pissy when they realized the renewed again for another 2 years on top of their current contract. Some people just never learn.

HAHA Oh man, like WorldIRC said, daily people come into my store asking to sign a 2 year on a Nokia 2720 for example. We sell em for $70 no contract, or $0 on one. I tell them 'spend the $70 right now, you'll then be able to sign a contract down the line if you want'

No phone sold by Bell/Telus/Rogers/Fido will work with Wind. Only phones that will work with Wind not sold by Wind would be T-Mobile USA 3G phones unlocked, and the Nokia N900.

Besides I think Wind are still not accepting non-Wind phones.
